Magical start

Sunny Pitch grew up in a very small valley in Tyrol, far away from extraordinary and unconventional phenomena such as vanguard arts or even Jazzmusic. Now the question arises: What can you do in such a cultural outback, in which the simplicity is the main policy? Sunny Pitch decided to collect as many music instruments as possible and let his creativity run wild. With some occasional workshops and seminars, but mainly auto didactically, he is gaining the necessary knowledge and playing intensively for more than 20 years now. Due to his belief in the magic of numbers, the music of Sunny Pitch also deals with mathematics. This is why he thinks that the date 01/01/11 is the ideal moment to creep out from under his rock. He will show the world which fantastic “soundcake” one can bake with ingredients such as passion, creativity and a will of iron.

If you feel like categorizing the music of Sunny Pitch, then the highly updated style could be described as progressive jazz style called “modern creative”. The musical achievements of the Free Jazz are used as modules and are mixed with other elements, brought under control, the shapes are shortened and planned, the former stodged structure is ventilated and made hearable. A lot of the contemporary jazz musicians have therefore created their different and personal language of improvisation. The modern Creative Musicians are individual, multiflexible stylists of the Jazz. (translated Definition from Wikipedia) But eventually humanity is able to forget about all the structures, norms and more such static skirmish, just to enter the crazy world of this exceptional artist. Because if you have once taken the risk, you will experience a world, in which everything exists at the same time: chaos & organization, calm & hectic pace, fear & peace…

Sunny Pitch is a multiinstrumental Jazzdrummer (see FAQ). His extraordinary way of playing is geared to the PULSE of every piece and is at the same time still open to all directions. He loves the spontaneous improvisation (he is inspired by artists such as Rashied Ali, Ed Blackwell, Sunny Murray, Brian Blade, Han Bennick and many more). Exactly as the physical pulse his musical spectrum ranges from palpitations to the lowest possible resting pulse (cp. winter sleep of animals and as well of many human beings). Most of the time he is more attracted by the first one.
